Just a few months ago, Liverpool CEO Peter Moore said the football industry would have to take it seriously. He was referring to how they would compete with gaming and e-sports in the future when trying to engage with young potential fans.

Now offthepitch.com can present research conducted by Ampere Analysis, which shows that 18- to 24-year-olds in the United Kingdom are far less likely to be interested in mainstream sports than the average.
