Several football clubs team up to create innovation group

Getty Images | Real Sociedad from Spain, Italian club Cagliari, Dutch outfit Feyenoord, Legia Warsaw from Poland, Chile’s Universidad Católica, Atlético Nacional from Colombia, Brazil's Vasco a Gama, Peru’s Sporting Cristal, Atlético Peñarol from Uruguay, and Al-Ittihad Jeddah of Saudi Arabia are all part of the project.

Ten clubs from across the world, including Feyenoord and Real Sociedad, have created a new group under the name "Sport Innovation Alliance" with the goal of tackling the challenges of digital transformation, according to SportsPro.

The group will work in four main areas - technology, research, revenue growth and collaboration - and employ technologies such as artificial intelligence, data and blockchain.
