EFL announces support for "ground-breaking" policing project

Getty Images | In the 2018/19 season, there were 1,381 football-related arrests, under Schedule 1 of the Football Spectators Act 1989 (as amended), a 10% decrease on the previous season. Of these, the most common offence types were public disorder (38%) and violent disorder (19%).

The EFL will support the ENABLE project, which works towards new and innovative approaches to safety and security at football matches, for the next two years.

ENABLE brings together leading academics, police forces, football clubs and supporters in its research project.
