Mervyn Day has left Bristol City following a restructure of the club's recruitment department. 

Day has been part of the club since October 2015.

Following a restructure of their recruitment department, the 64-year-old former goalkeeper Mervyn Day has left his position as head of UK scouting at Bristol City, the club announce. 

Day joined the club in October 2015 as scout for Spain and since became head of UK scouting. 

City's chief executive officer, Mark Ashton, said: "Recruitment is a massive area of the game and Mervyn has played a significant part in our progress to date. We wish him all the best and thank him for his services."
