Sunderland confirm Parkinson's appointment
- 51-year-old Phil Parkinson has signed a two-and-a-half-year deal with the club and is joined by his assistant, Steve Parkin.
- The former player, who most recently coached Bolton Wanderers, has achieved promotion on three occasions during his 16-year managerial career.
