Middlesbrough chairman urges EFL to probe rivals over financial conduct

Chairman Steve Gibson believes three Championship rivals are trying to bypass the profitability and sustainability rules and wants the EFL to investigate.

He is part of a small group of clubs who are demanding more stringent punishments for clubs found guilty of breaching the rules. 

Middlesbrough have sold £40 million worth of players and reduced their wage bill significantly to comply with the rules of financial fair play.
