Government's coronavirus plan: All football matches in England to be played behind closed doors

PL

PA Images | The main reason why English football will not be postponed is the long-term consequences such measures would have.

The plan could be triggered if the number of coronavirus cases in the UK exceeds 500, according to the Times.

The season will not be postponed but, in addition to all matches being played behind closed doors, no matches will be shown in pubs either, the intent being to limit gatherings.
