“Agents become more powerful by the day”

FIFA’s proposed banking system has been met with praises by the Professional Football Association’s deputy chief executive, Bobby Barnes.

But the idea of a transfer bank, where FIFA can verify all transfers and confirm the destinations, does not solve the problem of excessively high agent fees. 

Barnes spoke to offthepitch.com and said: “We have seen agent fees growing faster than player wages and that can’t be right.”
