Value of Bundesliga broadcasting rights deal expected to drop due to coronavirus
18 June 2020
The Bundesliga has received lower offers than expected for the coming three-year rights cycle.
Chief of the German Football League, Christian Seifert, is expected to present the contracts for the period until the 2024/25 season on Monday.
The coming broadcasting rights agreement for the Bundesliga will not be another landmark deal. According to German magazine Kicker, the offers for the period until the 2024/25 season have been lower than expected due to the extraordinary circumstances regarding the coronavirus pandemic.
Though the Bundesliga last month became the first major European league to resume from suspension, no concessions have been made to the German top flight.
