“I don’t for one second regret getting carried away. There was a moment in my lifetime when Kylian Mbappe and Sergio Ramos were 25/1 to sign for Newcastle United. That’s more than enough for me!”
The Tweet came in the midst of another frenzy in the north-east of England, when, for the first time, Newcastle had been linked with a £350 million takeover by Sheikh Khaled bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
