Qatar in advanced talks of buying stakes in Leeds United

Photo: Getty Images Paris Saint-Germain's president Nasser al-Khelaifi is now looking into investing in Leeds United through Qatar Sports Investments.

PSG’s owner, who fronts most of Qatar’s investment in sports, met with Leeds owner, Andrea Radrizzani, on Monday. The two have a friendship going back many years.

If Qatar succeeds with buying a stake in Leeds United, it will be their first entry into English football.

Qatar Sports Investments - the government’s sports and entertainment division - held advanced discussions to buy a stake in Leeds United on Monday in Doha, according to The New York Times.

The initial talks with Qatar involved a stake sale rumoured to be in the region of 15 per cent, though there could be a provision for a full buyout later on.
