Sunderland manager praises owner for January transfer dealings

The club's owner, Steward Donald, has approved the signing of three players so far in January, despite putting the club up for sale.
Manager Phil Parkinson further said that Sunderland represent an attractive proposition, having faced competition from Championship clubs in their pursuit of players.

The club's owner, Steward Donald, agreed to sell the club following a fan-led campaign demanding his departure just 18 months after the English businessman took over the crisis-stricken club.
