Last month, Sevilla FC took to the stage at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium in Madrid to great applause.

They were receiving an award— and no it wasn’t for “Best Club of the Year” or “Best Club Academy”. This is a much different type of award. The World Football Summit bestowed the top flight Spanish club with “Best Internationalization Strategy”, a merit based on a strategic plan Sevilla FC began putting more energy and focus on a year ago.
