Sheffield United exercise break clause with shirt sponsor.

Promotion to the Premier League will enable the club to negotiate a substantial uplift in the value of their next deal.

Burnley are being paid the sum of an established Premier League side in new shirt sponsorship deal.

Sheffield United have exercised a break clause to drop principal shirt sponsors Ramsdens Currency, with the club looking for a £5 million deal following promotion to the Premier League.

Offthepitch.com has learned that the club have held exploratory talks with interested parties, with an announcement expected over the next few weeks.

A source close to the club told offthepitch.com that it was “likely” that a new shirt sponsor for the 2019/20 season would be announced “before the end of the month”.
