Premier League appoints new chief executive with experience from the Guardian

Photo: PR: Premier League The Premier League has announced that David Pemsel is to be its new chief executive after his candidacy was approved unanimously at a special meeting of shareholders held on Wednesday. 

The Premier League has appointed David Pemsel as its new chief executive.

Pemsel has vast experience from the media world with jobs at the Guardian Media Group, ITV and several others.

The Premier League has announced that David Pemsel is to be its new chief executive after his candidacy was approved unanimously at a special meeting of shareholders held on Wednesday. 

Pemsel is currently the CEO of the Guardian Media Group (GMG), where he has led the company's transition to a more digital and international media brand. He has also overseen the organisation's first profit in its news business for 20 years, according to the announcement.
