Speaking to the New York Times, the Liverpool chief executive said that recruitment was delegated to a group consisting of the club's manager, Jürgen Klopp, and their sporting director, Michael Edwards, among others.

Moore made it clear that he did not believe CEO's of modern football clubs should be involved in transfer dealings.

Liverpool's Peter Moore is not involved in the club's transfer dealings, the chief executive said in an interview with the New York Times on Monday, which he believes is exactly how a modern football club should work.

"You don't want me doing that stuff," Moore told the American newspaper.
