Photo: PA Images With the acute impact of the coronavirus pandemic on football, Arsenal owner Stan Kroenke might need to rethink his business model and start to inject money into the club.

With European football likely off the table next season, and with many revenue streams on hold or at risk due to the coronavirus pandemic, Arsenal's operating model - earning money before investing it - is under pressure.

And now, despite being in what the club call the "most challenging" period of their nearly 134-year history, Arsenal find themselves in a stand-off with their players about a wage cut.

This week we cast the spotlight on the Gunners' majority stakeholder since 2011, Stan Kroenke.

Financially, the club's profitability has been healthy, with a pre-tax profit margin above league average. But the 2018/19 season resulted in Arsenal posting their first loss since 2002, and with the acute impact of the coronavirus pandemic on football, Kroenke might need to rethink his business model and at some point start to inject money into the club.
