Newcastle United react to Corbyn's harsh comments about owner Mike Ashley

Newcastle United have posted a long statement on their website, commenting on Jeremy Corbyn's remarks about Mike Ashley.

The club write that Corbyn's comments "demonstrated a surprising lack of knowledge about our national game."

In order to improve upon Corbyn's "lack of knowledge," the club have invited the Labour leader to see their social initiatives in the local community.

Newcastle United have issued a statement following the comments made by the Labour Party leader, Jeremy Corbyn, regarding the club's owner, Mike Ashley.

Meeting with members of the "Ashley Out" campaign, Corbyn lashed out at the Newcastle owner, saying: "They [clubs] are too important to be left in the hands of bad owners like Mike Ashley, who put their business interests ahead of everything else."
