New CEO says VAR and gambling firms will remain part of the Premier League

"Sport and gambling have a long association," the league's new chief, Richard Masters, said, according to the Guardian.
Meanwhile, VAR is not being removed from the Premier League, but the league will be "ironing out those other issues."
The Premier League's new chief executive, Richard Masters, has shared his thoughts on both VAR and betting company shirt sponsorships in a recent media briefing, according to the Guardian.
Gambling firms have a massive presence in football and have been criticised for causing mental health issues and putting financial strain on those affected by gambling addiction, but "sport and gambling have a long association," Masters said.
