New Balance appealing Nike verdict despite judge's refusal

New Balance initially tried to appeal the verdict which gave Nike permission to become Liverpool's new kit sponsor but was dismissed by the judge who was not persuaded there would be a prospect of success.

The company has now filed the necessary paperwork and written directly to the Court of Appeal for permission to appeal, according to the Liverpool Echo.
