The long list of Bolton’s creditors: Nearly £25 million owed
11 July 2019
Bolton Wanderers owe several hundred companies a total amount of nearly £25 million.
Many companies in the local community will most likely never get all their money.
There is a big discrepancy between the debt registered in the club’s accounts and that being claimed by creditors.
Bolton Wanderers were placed into administration in May and are said to be close to confirming the Football Ventures consortium as their new owner.
Before the takeover can be completed, agreements to repay secured creditors must be finalised. The secured creditors are one thing, but according to The Bolton News, a leaked 35-page document shows the great extent of the financial mismanagement at Bolton Wanderers.
