The Italian club have applied for a €6 million loan with state guarantee.

With a lower than market interest rate, the loan has a duration of six years and requires a one-time €60,000 fee to be paid by Roma.

AS Roma have applied for a €6 million state-guaranteed bank loan, according to Italian publication Calcio Finanza, in order to cover the wages of their employees.

The club's players, coaches, and staff earlier this year agreed to giving up the entirety of their wages until the end of the season to negate the impact of the coronavirus pandemic, saving them €30 million.

The loan has an interest rate of 2.35 per cent compared to the market rate of 12 per cent annually, thanks to a guarantee given by the Italian government.
