Media: Man City make last-minute challenge to UEFA’s attempt to ban them from Champions League

Photo: Getty Images Man City had a great season on the pitch with their domestic treble. Off the pitch a drama is now set to play out with the club challenge UEFA’s right to send its FFP case from the governing body’s investigatory to its adjudicatory chamber for a sanction to be imposed.

As the threat of Manchester City’s one-year exclusion from the Champions League has intensified, the club has now challenged UEFA’s right to progress the FFP case within the system.

In an attempt to delay the ruling banning it from the Champions League for a year, Manchester City has challenged UEFA’s right to send its FFP case from the governing body’s investigatory to its adjudicatory chamber for a sanction to be imposed. 

According to Associated Press, the Citizens are claiming there is no case to answer, challenging the legitimacy and haste of the investigation.
