Kovac leaves Bayern Münich after disappointing performances

Photo: Getty Images Sacked Nico Kovac joined Bayern Münich in April last year and won the Bundesliga, the DFB Cup and the Supercup in his first season.

The former Frankfurt manager leaves the club by mutual consent having held a discussion with the club's management following Saturday's 5-1 loss to Kovac's previous club.

Bayern lie fourth in the Bundesliga after ten games, just four points off first-placed Mönchengladbach.

Bayern Munich have announced that their head coach, Niko Kovac, has left the club by mutual consent following a discussion held with the club's management in the wake of a 5-1 defeat at Frankfurt this Saturday.

Kovac, also the former manager of Frankfurt, joined Bayern in April last year and won the Bundesliga, the DFB Cup and the Supercup in his first season.
