Mark Ashton left Bristol City in the Championship to join Ipswich Town in League One after being approached by the club's new US owners.
A key part of his strategy is engaging the community to increase attendances at 30,000-capacity Portman Road.
This includes investigating how to improve the matchday experience: "When the supporters come in, they've got to be entertained and they've got to want to come back."
Pop star Ed Sheeran is the current sponsor of Ipswich's shirts and Ashton wants to find creative ways to attract new partners in the digital age.

It is almost 20 years to the day that Ipswich Town claimed a famous victory over Inter Milan in the UEFA Cup at a rocking Portman Road.
It was one of Town's most memorable European nights since winning the competition in 1981 and came after finishing fifth in the Premier League the previous season.
