Athletic Club are building a fourth revenue pillar – innovation should contribute financially in three years time

Bilbao-based Athletic Club plan to make revenues from innovation activities the fourth key revenue stream alongside broadcast, matchday and commercial.
The club have signed agreements with multinational companies, startups and universities from all over the world with a view to potentially forming joint-venture businesses.
Aitor Elizegi, president of Athletic Club, says the club can embrace change while staying true to their heritage: "It's all about being local and global."
They created an innovation hub in 2019 to improve sporting performance and increase revenues.
One of Spain's most historic clubs is looking to the future.
Athletic Club, the Bilbao-based LaLiga team founded in 1898, is banking on an investment in innovation to improve performance on the pitch, and, in time, grow revenues off it.
