How much has each league point cost European clubs?
PA Images | FC Barcelona and Messi have had a terrible season culminated with a humiliating 8-2 defeat in the Champions League quater final. Both last season and this season the club paid out most in €m per point in Europe.
More than half of the top-20 clubs in the ranking of most expensive league points are from the Premier League.
The wage and point data are from 2018/19 as these are the latest wage figures published by the clubs.
However, we have also made a value-for-money table with the points accrued during the just-finished season of 2019/20. Still the same club paying the most per point.
