Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport, Oliver Dowden, on Thursday said the UK government supported the return of professional football in June following a "positive meeting" with the Premier League, EFL and FA.

The Premier League earlier said it was hoping to reconvene on 12th June and has outlined some plans of its so-called Project Restart resumption strategy. Dowden's comments come after the UK government earlier this week said no professional sport would be staged in England until 1st June at the earliest.
