Chief executive of the German Football League (DFL), Christian Seifert, has indicated he is in favour of implementing a wage cap in football in a bid to increase the future sustainability of the game.

With football in Europe suspended and clubs' revenue streams largely in decline due to the coronavirus pandemic, a number of key stakeholders have proposed revamping the entire business of the sport in order to prevent similar future scenarios of financial uncertainty.
