Fulham director rails against Spurs for slow conduct in Sessegnon transfer
13 August 2019
Tony Khan has slammed Spurs for their slow conduct in the Sessegnon transfer.
Fearing FFP regulations, Fulham couldn’t sign a replacement before the transfer was finalised.
Following a long pursuit of the rising-star teenager, Ryan Sessegnon, Tottenham Hotspur finally managed to get their guy from Fulham FC in a deal worth £25 million and also including a swap for Josh Onomah on deadline day.
Despite showing heavy interest for months, the deal wasn’t finalised till the last minute, putting Fulham in a pickle.
As the recently relegated Fulham have been wary of complying with Financial Fair Play (FFP) regulations, they couldn’t sign a replacement beforehand, leaving them with no time to replace the 19-year-old winger.
