Brighton's ambitions of establishing themselves as a top-ten club will have to wait as they are currently embroiled in a relegation scrap, sitting just three points ahead of 19th-placed Watford.

The clubs are of similar size financially, but Brighton's £18.5 million matchday income in the 2017/18 season is more than double Watford's £8 million for the same period.

Nigel Pearson's initial good form has taken a hit with Watford failing to win any of their last three matches, while Graham Potter's side are without a win in their last five.
