Exclusive: FIFA confirms NGO status talks, but denies Paris switch – for now

FIFA has confirmed to offthepitch.com it is seeking to upgrade its status in Switzerland to the same footing as global NGOs like the International Committee for the Red Cross, the United Nations and the Worldwide Fund for Nature.
The move, a FIFA spokesman confirmed, is “one of the avenues” FIFA is considering to “address the need for FIFA to recruit more staff from outside of Switzerland and the EU.”
