Fans to be allowed in Russian stadiums when league restarts
29 May 2020
A small number of fans will be able to attend matches when the Russian Premier League returns in June.
Russia has the third largest number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in the world.
Spectators will be allowed to occupy ten per cent of stadiums' seats when the Russian Premier League returns next month, according to news agency AFP.
The move, an agreement with the state consumer health watchdog, is a reversal of what was previously agreed, as Russia's football association in May said the league would return on 21st June behind closed doors.
"This is a safe number of fans if all safety measures are observed," the association said of the announcement.
