Development company to work with Manchester City on potential new arena

Photo: Getty Images Manchester City and the US company, Oak View Group, will work together to explore the possibility of a new arena, close to the Etihad.

The US development company Oak View Group has teamed up with the club's owner, City Football Group, to explore the possibility of an arena close to the Etihad.

The project, criticised for putting up to 2,200 jobs at risk, has recently been added to the Manchester City Council's development masterplan.

Manchester City and the US development, advisory and investment company, Oak View Group (OVG), will work together to explore the possibility of a new arena, close to the Etihad and rivalling the famous Manchester Arena, TheStadiumBusiness reports.

According to the report, the new arena would be located at the Etihad Campus in East Manchester, the same place City's stadium, the Etihad, is located.
