Atletico Madrid managed a club-record net profit in 2018/19, tripling the result from the previous year.

This helped Atletico reduce their financial debt by almost £17 million, with the club expecting to make further repayments in the coming years.

New shirt sponsorship deals helped the club's commercial revenue increase by £12 million.

The Spanish La Liga side Atletico Madrid tripled their net profit in 2018/19 - from €4.5 million (£3.9 million) to €14 million (£12 million), the highest net profit in club history.

This helped Atletico reduce their financial debt from €522.2 million (£448 million) to €506.1 million (£434.2 million).

"The net debt of the club should continue to decrease, provided the balance in investments and divestments is maintained," the club wrote in the financial report, according to the Spanish sports business media Palco23.
