Barcelona repurchase rights to sell Nike merchandise

Barcelona expect the move will provide a 37 per cent increase to their income from licensing and merchandising, according to the Spanish publication Palco23.
The agreement will enable the Spanish club to act as a distributor rather than a purchaser.
Barcelona have repurchased the rights to sell club-themed Nike products from the US company, according to the Spanish publication Palco23 - a move which the Catalans expect will increase their merchandising income significantly.
The buy-back coincides with Barcelona's ambitious new digital strategy. The club recently announced that by adopting a fan-centred approach to content, they aim to make their digital business one of their biggest sources of income.
