Barcelona contributed more than €1 billion to the local economy last season

The club's contribution to the city of Barcelona has increased by 31 per cent from the 2014/15 season, according to a report by consultants PricewaterhouseCoopers.

For every job created directly by the club, 12 additional jobs were created for the city.

Barcelona FC contributed €1.191 billion to the local city economy during the 2018/19 season, amounting to 1.46 per cent of Barcelona's GDP, according to a report by consultants PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC).

That figure represents a monetary increase of 31 per cent on the €906 million contribution the club were determined to have made during the 2014/15 season, when the last report was conducted, highlighting the local impact of the staggering international growth that has made Barcelona FC the dominant financial force in the world of football.
