Amazon in contact with Serie A over TV rights

The US tech company has held talks with the Italian league over TV rights, according to Italian newspaper Tuttosport.

Amazon already has an agreement to domestically air 20 Premier League games a season and has acquired the rights to stream some Champions League matches in Germany.

The Serie A has held talks with Amazon over the TV rights to the Italian league, according to Italian newspaper Tuttosport.

The exact nature of the talks, including which portion of the TV rights the American tech company is interested in acquiring, remains unclear. 

Amazon has already made its debut as a domestic broadcast partner to the Premier League earlier this season and will broadcast selected Champions League matches in Germany starting in 2021.
