Growing player sales including record João Félix transfer see Benfica emerge unscathed from pandemic

PA Images | Benfica are particularly known for the youth academy and have been behind a number of high-profile player sales in recent years, including the record €126 million sale of João Félix to Atletico Madrid.

Benfica last season saw their profit rise by €21.8 million to €46.5 million due to a series of successful player sales.

The transfers outweighed their operating expenses which increased in part because of rising costs associated with running the club's stadium.

Turnover fell slightly due to declining television income.
