Welcome to Off The Pitch
11 March 2019
A new business media focusing on Premier League and Championship clubs. And all the stakeholders in the industry.
The English football industry deserves a focused media, with content based on hard facts and figures and with a deep understanding of what it takes to run a professional football club.
We are a subscription-based media, but please sign up for a 30-day free trial. Companies wanting access on behalf of a number of employees should feel free to contact us for a free trial.
With this article we officially launch our new digital media Off The Pitch.
We are thrilled the day has finally arrived when we can present our content at offthepitch.com.
On a daily basis, we will publish articles written by experienced journalists based all over England, covering among other areas: financial developments, ownership, leadership, commercial and business strategies, and new ideas and innovation within the Premier League and Championship.
We want to write positive stories that showcase the great work the clubs are doing. But we also think bright and professional football executives want to be challenged, and therefore we’ll ask the tough questions when required
Besides the 44 clubs, we also cover all the stakeholders in this great industry: sponsors, media/broadcasters, advisors, suppliers and regulators.
“With our thorough monitoring of all the clubs you will never miss important news from the industry. But as we only write about the English football industry, we also have the time, focus and knowledge to provide our readers with the perspectives behind all the news,” says CEO and co-founder at Off The Pitch, Mads Meisner Christensen.
Journalism based on hard facts
He believes the multi-billion pound, fast-moving English football industry deserves a serious website dedicated to comprehensive day-to-day coverage of the biggest stories.
Every day subscribers will receive a news bulletin in their inbox, so they always know what is going on in the industry – whether it is the CEO of a Championship club presenting a new strategy, new vital info regarding Financial Fair Play or a Premier League club reshuffling its management team.
“Our reports and analysis will be based on hard facts and figures and with a deep understanding of what it takes to run a professional football club. We want to be “critical friends” of the clubs. We want to write positive stories that showcase the great work the clubs are doing. But we also think bright and professional football executives want to be challenged, and therefore we’ll ask the tough questions when required,” says the CEO of Off The Pitch.
Data section on its way
He underlines that the whole existence of the media “depends on our ability to provide fair, accurate and well-researched journalism.”
During the spring, Off The Pitch will also launch a data section with detailed club statistics and financials. This ‘one-stop-shop’ will allow subscribers to source data about other clubs and the stakeholders of the football-industry. “Our ambition is to make this tool a hugely important resource which could help executives in the industry,” says Mads Meisner Christensen from offthepitch.com.
