Wednesday briefing: Telefónica to pay DAZN €1.65 billion for LaLiga rights until 2032

Telefónica will pay DAZN €1.65 billion to continue showing all LaLiga matches on Movistar Plus+ until 2032 after renewing its distribution agreement with the streaming platform.
The non-exclusive deal covers five seasons from 2027/28 to 2031/32 and is worth €330 million per season, up 18 per cent from the current €280 million annual agreement, according to 2Playbook. DAZN’s package comprises five matches in each of the 38 rounds.
