Specialist finance company 23 Capital has provided loans and financing to clubs across Europe's top leagues, including Benfica, Watford and FC Barcelona.

It was the company behind one of the biggest transfers of the summer.

We interview the CEO and co-founder, Jason Traub, who urges clubs to base sporting strategies on a sound financial strategy.

To the casual observer of the football industry, 23 Capital might not be a name that rings any bells. 

It is, however, the company that stepped in when FC Barcelona's usual banks hesitated to continue to assist the club with financing. The Catalan giants have grown to be one of 23 Capital's biggest clients and it is likely that Antoine Griezmann would not have signed a FC Barcelona agreement if it had not been for 23 Capital.
