Following a torrid ten months, last Tuesday seemed to represent a day of progress for French football.

Talks between the players union, the UNFP, over a pay cut to help mitigate the economic effects of Covid-19 and the collapse of LFP’s TV deal with MediaPro had gone well. There were also positive discussions on the reconfigured Coupe de France with an announcement on the competition’s continuation coming 48 hours later.
