US private equity firm offers Serie A €3 billion for 25 per cent stake

Bain Capital has made a preliminary offer for a stake in Italy's top flight as it enters into competition with CVC Capital.
Its offer would top CVC's bid for a 20 per cent stake.
Another bidder has emerged for the Serie A in Bain Capital, who, according to Bloomberg, have made a €3 billion bid for a 25 per cent stake in the Italian top flight.
The report comes after it last month emerged another private equity firm, CVC Capital, was in discussions about a 20 per cent stake in the Serie A for a price of €2 billion.
Bain Capital's bid would value the league at €12 billion, while CVC's bid would value it at €10 billion.
