On board at Chelsea: On two crucial parameters Lampard stands out compared to previous 11 managers

But since 2000, Chelsea have neither hired a manager with so little experience nor one with a score from a former club falling short of 1.67 PPM.

Chelsea’s hiring of Frank Lampard could be considered unusual, looking at the club’s former criteria for statistics when hiring a manager.

Since 2000, all hired managers have had more experience and success than Lampard.

Chelsea officially confirmed that Frank Lampard will be the club’s new head coach. Lampard, who is mostly known for his huge success as a player for Chelsea, where the former central midfielder scored 209 goals and 150 assists in 640 matches, winning three Premier League titles, four FA cups, and one Champions League trophy. 

Now, after spending a season as manager at Derby, where Lampard almost got the team promoted from the Championship but lost in the play-off final against Aston Villa, the Chelsea legend has secured a three-year deal as manager.
