The backers of the proposed European Super League face having to take out separate legal action in the UK for English clubs to be involved, even if they win the upcoming European Court of Justice (ECJ) ruling, The Times reports.

The revelation comes ahead of the recommendation due to be made on Thursday by advocate general of the ECJ, Athanasios Rantos, on legal action against UEFA and FIFA brought by the company A22, which claims that the football authorities are unfairly blocking
