Telegraph: Premier League has been informed of Saudi Arabian Newcastle bid
PA Images | Many questions remain over the deals existence, with some claiming it is not inline with Saudi Arabia's investment policy, while others have speculated the rumours were fabricated to garner attention for Mike Ashley, who has been trying to offload the club for several years.
The rumoured takeover, first reported in January, would see Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund take on a 80 per cent stake in the club.
Contact was reportedly established several days ago, and it could take up to a month before the Premier League approves the potential deal.
