Media: Sunderland owners in talks with US investors

MSD Capital, also the investment managers of billionaire Michael Dell who founded Dell computers, are nearing a deal to buy The Black Cats, according to the Financial Times.

The current owner, Stewart Donald, is likely to remain on as a stakeholder.

League One club Sunderland AFC could change owners in the near future as a US investment firm looks to complete a deal for the historic club. 

According to the Financial Times, MSD Capital, led by the principals of the firm, John Phelan, Glenn Fuhrman and Rob Platek, are in talks with the club’s owners who has been on the lookout for a buyer for several months.
