Stoke City have appointed former player Gareth Owen as the club’s new academy director. Owen is replacing Gareth Jennings, who leaves the club next month. 36-year-old Owen has been a member of the club’s academy coaching staff since 2013 as lead coach of the foundation phase (U8s to U12s) and has also been assisting with the coaching of the U18 side.
