Sheffield Wednesday fire back at EFL after charges of misconduct re sale of Hillsborough Stadium

The EFL has charged Sheffield Wednesday with misconduct regarding the sale and leaseback of Hillsborough Stadium in the club's 2017/18 accounts.

The club believe the charges are "unlawful" and they are ready to "vigorously defend the charges."

Sheffield Wednesday have filed their response to the charges brought against them by the EFL for alleged misconduct regarding the sale and leaseback of Hillsborough Stadium and the profit of the sale in the club's 2017/18 accounts. 

In a statement, the club write that they have "informed the EFL that the charges are themselves unlawful and, without prejudice to that fact, are all denied by the Club and the other Respondents."
